I don't know how I feel about audiobooks.

On one hand I like listening to them. I used to be frustrated when I tried to read along with them in my book. Axed that and just started to listen.

But see if I listen to an audiobook in its entirety can I count that as a read book? Have I 'technically' read or have I just listened to it?

It feels a bit to my mind like cheating since I didn't like sit down and read it from beginning to end. Then also I sometimes tune out and I miss stuff. I mean I guess I do that when I glance over the boring parts.

So basically I don't know how I feel about audiobooks.

I think it still counts as having read the book, although it is a slightly different experience. It's almost like a shared reading with another person- you hear their intonation which likely influences your own interpretation.

I'm not a huge fan of audiobooks but I do love being read to. My partner reads to me quite often. It's a tradition we started back when I was studying full time and my eyes would get too tired from reading textbooks for me to keep on reading on my own for leisure. It's so nice to curl up together and listen to a story :)

Yeah it definitely is a different experience. I'm still getting used to it.

I consider them to be books I've read.

I still feel iffy about but I'm sure that'll pass.

I have never tried an audiobook before. I don't know why I haven't.

I think you can count an audiobook as a read book. I don't see why not. You did read it, just with your ears instead of your eyes.

That makes sense.

I personally think that listening to an audiobook counts as reading the actual book, though yes it is a different experience than sitting down and reading said book. You're listening to someone read their interpretation of the words and characters for you, and I actually find that fascinating.

I didn't think of it like that.

I, personally, wouldn't count it as a read book, but some people do and some people don't. I think, whichever way you consider it is correct because it's up to you. After all, it's your reading list, so it's your choice.

I'm not sure how I would classify them yet.
